Anna Captain
Anna Captain believes a commitment to nourishing others is a demonstration of faith in the future. Inspired by the people, places, and advocacy that constitute foodways that flourish, she has apprenticed at Glidden Point Oyster Farms in Maine and Firefly Farms Creamery in Appalachia. She got her start in hospitality in New York City, where she worked as a barback, barista, and cheesemonger.
She worked with the Anne Saxelby Legacy Fund, coordinating grants, social media, and events to uplift small farmers and bring more young folks into regenerative farming. Anna has also spent time in wine media, organizing and building tasting programs at Food & Wine and The New Wine Review. She graduated from NYU Gallatin with a concentration in Political Rhetoric and Culture. She hopes to build upon the legacy of the Glynwood Farm Store as a space for serendipity, community, and empowerment.
