Robert W. Elliott, II
Bob has held multiple position in state and local government, as well as in the business and nonprofit sectors. His positions have included Deputy Secretary of State for New York State, Mayor of Croton-on-Hudson, President of the New York Conference of Mayors and of the New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal, Co-Chairman of Westchester County’s Council of Government, and Chairman of the Historic River
Towns of Westchester, which he founded.
Bob has held appointed positions on the Governor’s Task Forces for Access to the Hudson River and Local Government Reform, the state legislature’s Rural Land Use Advisory Committee, the Department of Environmental Conservation’s Hudson River Estuary Management Plan Advisory Board and the Hudson Valley Greenway Communities Council.
Bob authored the New York Conference of Mayors’ Sustainable Communities Initiative and served as the Vice Chair of the New York Main Street Alliance and Chair of the Hudson Valley Tourism Development Council. In Westchester County, he has served as Director of Economic Development, headed the Industrial Development Agency and was President of the Convention and Visitors Bureau. He has served as Executive Director of the New York State Planning Federation and on a number of nonprofit boards including
the Hudson River Foundation for Science and Education (as Board Chair) and Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. Bob holds a Master’s Degree from George Washington University’s Graduate School of Government and Business.
