Barbara Kurz is a senior Human Resources (HR) executive with over 25 years of diverse international leadership experience in blue chip financial and professional services organizations. Barbara is currently the Global Head of Talent Acquisition for MetLife, a global provider of life insurance, annuities, employee benefits and asset management with operations in nearly 50 countries and 65,000 employees. In this role, she is
responsible for enhancing and expanding all aspects of MetLife’s talent acquisition strategy as the competition for world-class talent around the globe continues to intensify. From 2005-2013, Barbara held HR leadership roles for several Citibank Global Consumer businesses, each of which was undergoing significant transformation. Her earlier HR career was shaped at American Express, Booz Allen and Chemical Bank.
From 1996-2001, Barbara was an Executive Search Consultant at the leading British firm, Whitehead Mann Group plc in London and New York. Additional search experience was gained at Gow & Partners-New York and Korn/Ferry International in Hong Kong. Barbara holds a B.S. in Social Work from Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania. Additional academic training includes successful completion of Georgetown University’s
Executive Coaching Program and the University of Michigan’s Executive HR Management Program.
Barbara lives in New York City with her husband, Richard. She enjoys kayaking, hiking and cooking. In addition to serving on Glynwood’s Board of Directors, she served most recently on the board of The Forest Lake Club, a 125 year-old hunting and fishing club in Pennsylvania, dedicated to land conservation and stewardship. Prior board affiliations include The Next Stage, a performing arts company in New York City.
