The Backyard Fruit Tree

This workshop, to be presented by Charles Day, is for anyone who has or would like to have a few fruit trees in their yards. The program will cover all aspects of the Backyard Fruit Tree and will include pruning in the Glynwood orchard. Topics are:
Site
- How to assess the site for fruit tree culture.
- How to prepare the site before planting.
Trees
- If pre-existing, whether to keep or replace.
- If new, what to look for in varieties, rootstocks and quality from nursery.
Establishment
- Planting
- Watering
- Fertilizing
Routine Tasks
- Pruning, etc.

- Pests and disease (brief intro into IPM)
