Backwoods Exploration
Glynwood sits on 225 stunning acres of rock-strewn hills, rolling pasture land, bogs and lakes, each with its own diverse eco-system of native plants, flora and funghi, as well as the birds, insects and small animals that inhabit these Hudson Highlands. The Backwoods Exploration Workshops were developed to encourage people to become acquainted with the life forms of this rich local landscape. They sometimes start indoors with an overview or a slide show, but they always end up as outdoor nature walks, sometimes exploring the wonders of a spring-time forest, other times autumnal foraging of local mushrooms.
