Second Friday of the month during growing and harvest seasons

3pm – 4:30pm
FREE; reservations required
Did you know that we farm our own land, about 150 acres right on the Glynwood site and another 100 on land owned by nearby neighbors? The rock-strewn hillsides on which Glynwood Farm is situated make it best suited for pasturing livestock for meat production, augmented by garden vegetables. Glynwood Farm is devoted to testing, innovating, and demonstrating techniques that support the economic viability of environmentally sustainable farming. All of this contributes to Glynwood’s larger mission of helping communities save farming in the Northeast.
On the second Friday of each month during our growing and harvest seasons, a member of the Glynwood staff will give a tour of our farm and gardens. During the 60 to 90 minute tour, you will learn about the nutrient dense crop program we are implementing in the garden, our energy saving initiatives, and how we have had success using goats to graze down the invasive species where mechanized mowing is impossible. Meet our pasture-raised heritage breed cattle and see our hen operations. And ask our seasoned staff about our sustainable farming practices, composting and how it can be applied to your home garden. Also learn about the work that Glynwood does in communities and on a regional level to support sustainable agriculture.
Please note that there is good bit of walking on the tour and space is limited. To make a reservation, please contact Anita Barber via email abarber@glynwood.org or by phone
