Our Programs

Glynwood’s programs range from community and regional initiatives to programs with national impact, but they all share the goal of fulfilling our mission to promote sustainable farming. At Glynwood Farm we offer one-day seminars and workshops for community members who want to learn about the growing, processing and cooking of food, and speaker series that feature nationally-recognized leaders in their field.

On the regional level, Glynwood’s Keep Farming program empowers communities in the Northeast to support farming and conserve farmland. Our newest regional initiative is the development of a mobile, modular slaughterhouse that is serving as a real-world model of the solution to the acute shortage of meat processing infrastructure in the Northeast, which we intend for communities with small to mid-sized livestock farms to replicate.

Nationally, Glynwood’s Harvest Awards program honor farmers, organizations, and businesses across the United States for innovation and leadership in sustainable agriculture and regional food systems. In 2010 we launched the Glynwood Institute for Sustainable Food and Farming to be an incubator for ideas and action, a “creative action tank” that develops and implements realistic solutions to critical issues within the food system
